My daughter had a Black and White Themed Party for her 12th Birthday. She chose vanilla cupcakes in zebra print cases with vanilla buttercream icing and a black rose decoration. I tried to make black icing, but unfortunately this came out grey - will experiment a bit more with that one!!

Pricing of Cupcakes by Claire

My Cupcakes are available in 4 sizes - Muffin, Fairy Cake and Mini-Muffin and an Extra-Large size (which is the equivalent to 4 douzen cupcakes!).

The prices shown below are for Cupcakes chosen from my 12 Signature Flavours (cakes will be made and decorated as described). I am happy to decorate cakes and provide more decorative cupcake cases to the customers requirements - understandably, there may be a slight difference in cost depending on the specifications of the order. Please ask for a no-obligation quote.

All Cupcakes are made fresh on the day they are ordered for and are supplied in a special Cupcake box with inserts to keep each cake in position. The box is then finished with a hand-tied decorative ribbon (in a choice of colours) and a personalised printed gift card. Due to the size of the Extra-Large cupcake, this is supplied in a returnable, plastic cake courier.

Single boxes are a cream colour and have a lovely satin finish, boxes for 4 cakes are white with a satin finish, 6-cake and 12-cake boxes are made of strong cardboard and are available in white or pink, 9-cake and 24-cake boxes are white strong cardboard. Mini-Cupcake boxes are white satin-finished with a clear lid.

Depending on quantities ordered, I can deliver locally for a small charge. Orders may also be collected from myself.

Muffin Sized Cupcakes - Single and boxes of 4 Cupcakes are only available on certain days and orders for 6 or less Cupcakes will only be available in 1 flavour unless other orders are being complete on the same day - please ask, I will try to accomodate you wherever possible!

Box of 9 - £13.50

Box of 12 - £18.00

Box of 24 - £34.00

Fairy Cake Sized Cupcakes are available in the same size boxes as above and are approximately £1.00 each depending on decoration.

Mini Muffin Sized Cupcakes - These are available in white satin finish boxes (with clear viewing lid) of 9,12 or 24 cakes and are approximately 50p each depending on decoration.

Extra-Large Sized Cupcakes - As mentioned above, these are supplied in a returnable, plastic cake courier. Depending on decoration, the cost is approximately £30.00.

What I use to make my cupcakes

All the ingredients I use to make my Cupcakes are locally sourced and are of the finest quality.

Free Range Eggs are used to make the light, moist sponge. Although my daughter has her own Free Range hens running around the farm, I only use their eggs for our own consumption and purchase eggs for making Cupcakes as these will have passed all the rigorous Food Standards tests required.

Following Environmental Health Requirements, each flavour of Cupcake I produce is supplied with an informative label detailing Ingredients, Best Before End Date, Storage Instructions and Allergen Advice.

MY 12 SIGNATURE FLAVOURS ARE:

Banoffee - A moist banana sponge with a toffee sauce icing and banana sugar sprinkles.

Cappuccino - A golden coffee sponge topped with a thick layer of white chocolate frosting and finished with a dusting of cocoa powder.

Carrot - A moist, lightly spiced Cupcake with a sweet cream-cheese frosting, topped with a sweet melt carrot decoration.

Chocolate - A rich chocolate sponge, topped with a chocolate buttercream icing and marbled chocolate curls.

Chocolate Orange - A subtle blend of chocolate sponge flavoured with orange rind and juice, finished with a rich chocolate buttercream icing and a decorative orange segment.

Lemon - A moist sponge flavoured with lemon rind and juice, finished with a lemon buttercream icing and a decorative lemon segment.

Mint and Chocolate Chip - A lovely combination of peppermint flavoured sponge and dark chocolate chips, topped with a green, peppermint flavour buttercream icing with chocolate star sprinkles.

Peanut Butter - A rich peanut butter sponge with a peanut butter icing, finished with mini chocolate smarties.

Rocky Road - A rich chocolate sponge with white chocolate chips and marmallows, finished with a chocolate frosting and yet more marshmallows and white chocolate chips.

All About Claire

Hi, my name is Claire Nash.

I have loved baking in our farmhouse kitchen since I married 17 years ago and Cupcakes are always a favourite of my family and friends.

A few months ago my friend Heather asked if I would make Cupcakes for her daughter's birthday party. I was honoured to do this and amazed at the response they received. It was suggested to me that I should do this professionally - from there 'Cupcakes by Claire' was born.

Since then, I have registered with Dumfries and Galloway Environmental Health Department, who have approved my kitchen and I have taken an Elementary Food Hygiene Course.

Over the last few months I have been perfecting my recipes (and putting on a few pounds!). A Tasting Day was held on 21st September when the girls came as my Chief Tasters and sampled the 13 flavours I had made - to give me constructive criticism and hoping to reduce them to 12. No-one could agree which one to drop, so I have had to go with the most expensive to produce! Although this may return as a 'Special' in the future.
